GTA 4′s successor release delayed, angry fans slam Rockstar

Grand Theft Auto fans are miffed as the release date of GTA 5 has been pushed to September 17, which is four months later than originally planned. Following a hint of Spring release, fans anticipated to get their hands on the latest game in the franchise after getting sneak previews to the highly-awaited gaming console, but were disappointed with the latest announcement. Angry fans posted furious messages on Rockstar’s website following the announcement. The Rockstar Games website issued a public apology for the postponement of the GTA 5 release date.

Game enthusiasts slammed Rockstar in its official site for the postponement of Grand Theft Auto 5, which has been in the making for over two years now. A user called EzioSteel posted on developer Rockstar Games’ official site: “I’ve been a GTA fan since the original on PS1. This is just a slap in the face to fans. It has been handled atrociously and is not promoting a strong bond between supplier and customer.” Trashing the company’s apology, GTA fan fede01_8 said, “I cancelled my pre-order, gonna buy it used now.”

While some fans were outraged by the delay of GTA 5 release, most were tolerant and speculated that the firm might need more time for a PC version. A few other GTA fans requested the company to release another GTA 5 trailer, more screenshots or even the box art, to quench the their curiosity.

GTA 5 marks a return to the fictional city of Los Santos, Rockstar’s interpretation of Los Angeles, and its surrounding areas. Los Santos first appeared in 2004′s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. That game, along with 2002′s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, are generally regarded by hardcore fans as being the best games of the series so far.
