God of War: Ascension trophy title ‘Bros Before Hos’ will be changed to ‘Bros Before Foes’

God of War: Ascension Metacritic review marked the game as 80/100 and Sony is already making changes to the game with a new patch. One title of the trophy in the new game has garnered some controversial remarks from critics and players. The trophy named as ‘Bros Before Hos’ will now be called ‘Bros Before Foes’ after Sony rolls out the God of War: Ascension patch.

The title was marked as offensive by the players in their feedback to the Japanese conglomerate. The trophy pops up on the screen shortly after the player uses Kratos to finish off a female boss by stamping his size ten sandle-shod foot through her face. The title sparked a controversy as it was labelled as a horrible misogynist attempt by some critics.

Announcing the patch to correct the title, a statement from Sony read, “We have created and will soon push out a patch for God of War: Ascension that alters the title of one of the game Trophies. The text was offensive to some members of our community and impacted their enjoyment of the game. We are endlessly committed to ensuring that our community can fully enjoy the experiences the team has created. As such, We have addressed the feedback and amended the Trophy in question.”

God of War: Ascension tells the story of Kratos before the events of his all-out war against Ares, the Greek God of War. Told in a series of chronologically out-of-sequence chapters, Ascension picks up after Kratos has decided to break the oath he swore to Ares, the one he made to spare his own life and defeat his enemies, as seen in 2005′s God of War.

God of War: Ascension hits the stores today with critics praising the fundamental gameplay and spectacle true to the series.
