Connor will not be the protagonist in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flags

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flags release date was leaked on the official website of the game as October 29, 2013. Ubisoft seems to have fixed the glitch, which displayed the release date of the next Assassin’s Creed game. In addition to leaking the release date of the game, the website also displayed the platforms for the release.

The glitch stated that Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flags will be released on next-generation consoles. Ubisoft had earlier confirmed the game for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC, but the new leak suggests that the game will also be available on next-gen consoles. Assassin’s Creed 4 is set to premiere in four days as the countdown on the website promptly suggests.

The constant leaks forced Ubisoft to announce the game yesterday, confirming most of the rumours circulating amidst the gaming communities. The fourth installment of the action-adventure game was rumoured to be called Black Flags and speculated to comprise of pirates, which was confirmed by Ubisoft.

The game is set in early 18th century, which is termed as the golden age of piracy. Assassin’s Creed 4 receives a new protagonist, the grandfather of Connor, Edward Kenway, who is a government-sanctioned privateer to take down foreign ships. The game play still remains unknown as AC4 fans anxiously wait for the Monday premiere.

Assassin’s Creed 3 was well received by the critics and general public barring a few technical glitches and raked in major sales. Ubisoft would be hoping that Assassin’s Creed 4 surpasses all the records set by AC 3. What do you think about the new story line of AC4: Black Flags?
