Sony Xperia T named the ‘Bond Phone’ is expected to arrive in the UK this month

Sony Xperia T has been christened as the ‘Bond Phone’ in the UK due its inclusion in the new 007 film Skyfall. The smartphone was launched by Sony at IFA 2012 along with two other devices in the Xperia family.

Xperia T is expected to arrive in the UK later this month through the online retailer O2. Sony is building its marketing strategy by aligning Xperia T with the Bond flick Skyfall.

Sony is calling the device ‘Bond Phone’ as it is reported to present a special edition package with James Bond themed wallpapers, ringtones and packaging to celebrate its association with the new Bond film. It is rumoured that Xperia T will be used by Daniel Craig while portraying the character of the British spy.

Bond’s attraction towards Sony gadgets has been evident in the recent flicks, with a Sony laptop and smartphone finding a place in the spy’s inventory. Xperia T comprises of a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor supported by 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

The ‘Bond Phone’ also has a 13 mega-pixel camera on the rear end and 1.3 mega-pixel on the front end. Xperia T will be powered by an 1850 mAh battery and operate on Android 4.0. Xperia T boasts of a 4.5-inch display with a very acute image quality of 1280 x 720 resolution.

Th price of the phone is not mentioned at O2, but another online UK store, Clove has displayed the smartphone with a price-tag of £414 without the SIM card. Sony will be hoping the Bond connection works for the sales of the Xperia T.
