Samsung might continue the use of plastic in building Galaxy S4′s body

Samsung Galaxy S4 features have been the prime ingredient of the rumours affiliated with the launch of the successor of Galaxy S3. Recent reports suggest that the South Korean company might continue using the plastic casing for the manufacturing process of Galaxy S4. The firm’s VP stated that plastic provides more durability and is easy to work with.

While talking to CNET, executive vice president of Samsung, Y.H. Lee, stated that Samsung concentrates on the efficiency of manufacturing smartphones using plastic, since it has to ship more units in a shorter time period. The VP also stated that the plastic is bendable and can better absorb physical impact making it more durable than the material used in other smartphones.

There was no confirmation from Lee that Galaxy S4 would also be sporting a plastic chassis, but considering the above statements it can be deduced that plastic is Samsung’s favourite. The plastic feature of Galaxy S3 has often been named as the most unpopular feature of the smartphone device from the South Korean firm. Reports hinted that many consumers stated that the use of plastic made the device look cheap.

Recent rumours suggest that Galaxy S4 will feature an eye-scroll technology, that will track the eye movement of the user, to control the scrolling of the screen. The smartphone has been the subject of many leaks, the most recent one was leaked images of the device, which were later declared as art work by Expansys designers.

Samsung is apparently not looking for any major design changes through its next smartphone offering, Galaxy S4. What do you think about plastic casing of Galaxy S3?
