The special Olympic edition Samsung Galaxy S3 finally arrived at the Carphone Warehouse today and coincides with the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Great Britain nationals and supporters can rejoice and show off their limited edition Team GB cover of their Olympic Edition Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone. The exclusive London 2012 handset will be available on August 1st with price starting from £28 per month.
The official Olympic partners have decided to go all out to show their support to the London 2012 Games with Simon Stanford, vice president of Samsung’s Telecommunications and Networks Division saying, “As a Worldwide Olympic Partner, we at Samsung want everyone to get behind Team GB and offer them support during the Olympic Games. We are delighted to be able to offer Carphone Warehouse customers the chance to own this exclusive London 2012 Samsung Galaxy SIII handset, combining the chance to support Team GB with owning a piece of cutting-edge Samsung technology.”

While boasting of the standard Galaxy S3 high end specifications, the special Olympic edition will come with two interchangeable back panels. Both the panels will incorporate the famous Olympic rings, Team GB logo for white model and Union Jack cover for the blue model. Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, quad-core processor and 8-megapixel rear mounted camera with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities will stay with the special Olympic edition Galaxy S3 smartphones.
The exclusive limited edition smartphones will be available to competing athletes at the Games which will allow them a user to control lighting, change television channels and act as in-room phone extension. Samsung also that the smartphone will also act as hotel room keycards during the Games, thanks to a partnership with the Holiday Inn in Stratford City.
