LG Optimus L9 was pocketed by T-Mobile during MobileCon 2012 after its release at IFA 2012. LG has been in the news for its recent string of smartphone releases; LG Optimus G and LG Mach were recently unveiled by the South Korean conglomerate entity. LG Optimus L9 is the top-placed phone of the L-series family due to its features.
Optimus L9 will be available for purchase in the upcoming fall season, although the carrier hasn’t announced price of the smartphone. The phone boasts of a dual core processor and 4G capabilities which makes it a high-end smartphone. LG Optimus G and LG Mach were associated with Sprint.
James Fishler, senior vice president of marketing and go-to-market operations at LG, said, “As the latest device in LG’s L-Series smartphones, LG Optimus L9 has been designed to fulfill users’ needs for a slim, stylish device that is comfortable to use. With LG Optimus L9, users can take advantage of premium smartphone features – a stunning display, a powerful processor and a long-lasting battery – in a sleek design.”
LG Optimus L9 houses a 4.5 inch qHD corning Gorilla Glass 2 display. The back plate is slightly textured, but is made out of a matte plastic. The Optimus L9 is equipped with a 1GHz dual-core processor powered by 2,150mAh battery, 1GB RAM and 4GB of embedded memory. The Optimus device consists of a 5 megapixel rear camera in addition to a VGA front camera.
The handset runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but will have LG’s Optimus 3.0 UI embossed on top of the original ICS skin. The technological experts have been drawing similarities between LG Mach and LG Optimus L9.
