Could this be the new HTC phablet?

The HTC event has kept everyone guessing about the surprises that the Taiwanese company might bring to the surface. HTC is organising an event in New York, today which is rumoured to be the platform for unveiling Windows 8 smartphones

A combination of HTC Windows phone devices have been leaked over the past few months under the names of Rio, Accord and Zenith. It is rumoured that Accord and Zenith are bound to imitate Android-based HTC One S and HTC One X.

The invitation to the HTC event was released almost at the same time as Apple released the invite for iPhone 5. HTC rolled out the release form with the date, September 19, as a header and requested the readers to join them ‘to see what’s next’. The invite also had an unusual design at the bottom which is speculated to belong to Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system.

Building on the mystery, HTC posted a photo on their Facebook page which seemed to look like a phone/tablet hybrid. It is rumoured that the One X manufacturer might launch a device in the phone/tablet hybrid category with features like a 5-inch, 1080p screen and a Snapdragon S4 Pro chip.

The timing of the HTC event might be open for discussion as Samsung and Apple have captured most of the smartphone market, but HTC might stage their comeback with a Windows 8 device. With the details about the event still remaining obscure, common people are keeping their fingers crossed about the new releases.
