HTC Butterfly J is scheduled to get a successor in November

HTC J Butterfly, the 5-inch smartphone might be receiving its successor as the Taiwanese company plans to bring the wide screen smartphone outside Japan. HTC DLX is deemed to be the successor of the HTC Butterfly with similar features. HTC DLX pictures were leaked on the internet earlier, though they might be forgeries.

HTC Butterfly J was released in Japan with 5-inch 1080p high resolution display which created ripples in the smartphone market. HTC Butterfly is expected to introduce Super LCD 3 technology with its screen as the smartphone was unveiled in Japan in the previous week. The DLX and J Butterfly fall in the category of phone/table hybrid and Galaxy Note 2 might have found its competitor.

HTC DLX will comprise of an 8MP or 12MP rear camera with a quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The processor is most likely to be 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro. The battery is speculated to be a non-removable 2500 mAh and DLX will operate on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, along with Sense 4 which was introduced in HTC One X+.

HTC DLX might be heading towards Verizon and is expected to be released around Thanksgiving. With HTC J Butterfly being exclusive to Japanese markets, rumours about DLX might bring some hope for the people who were amazed by the high-resolution screen and its size.

With HTC DLX reported to be available in the US markets, European countries will be hoping to get the smartphone in their territories as soon as possible. The phablet market might see a healthy competition between Samsung and HTC if the rumours turn out to be true. What do you think?
