Samung might release Galaxy S4 on March 14 at a New York event

Samsung Galaxy S4 release date is rumoured to be March 14 according to various news sources and is speculated to be unveiled at a New York event by the South Korean company. S4 has been a much-awaited offering from the company as the Verge confirms the date of release as March 14. Rumours about the specs have been circulating in the market, but nothing can be confirmed yet.

Galaxy S3, the predecessor of Samsung S4 was among the top-selling smartphones last year and the South Korean company would be hoping that S4 sets a new record. Eldar Murtazin, referred to as one of the best-informed people in the industry, tweeted that March 14 would be the date for the big announcement from Samsung.

According to the reports, Galaxy S4 would not be available to public until next month, but might make an appearance at the Mobile World Congress(MWC) in Barcelona next week for the eyes of select partners. Rumoured specs of the successor of Galaxy S3 include a 5-inch ultra HD screen, a quad-core Exynos 5440 processor and 2GB of RAM.

The device is also speculated to feature a 13 MP camera. Recent rumours suggest that the device will feature 802.11ac WiFi technology. The new technology, which is also known as 5G WiFi, targets browsing speeds and aims to provide roughly equatable speeds with a wired connection.

Samsung Galaxy S4 is reported to comprise a Broadcom BCM4335 chip that incorporates the 802.11ac WiFi capacity along with Bluetooth 4.0 and an FM radio. With S4 releasing, the South Korean firm would be looking to overhaul the sales numbers set by Apple iPhone 5.
