BlackBerry 10 Alpha Dev’s successor, L-series, is scheduled for a serious makeover

BlackBerry has become a victim to internet invasion as unofficial images of its novel BlackBerry 10 London series phone surfaced online.

BlackBerry news web site, N4BB displayed images that show a slender touch screen phone displaying applications like Music, Videos, Maps, Application World, Text Messaging, BBM, Calendar, Browser, and Contacts.

The leaked video shows StoryMaker, FocalPoint and a few applications that the users have never noticed before. FocalPoint has been rumoured to be related to Research in Motion’s (RIM) recent acquisition of JayCut, applied for video editing.

The leaked images point to a gun metal colour of the smartphone. BlackBerry 10 is the primary device in the London series by Blackberry. The pictures also show the smartphone with a removable 1800 mAh LS1 battery.

BlackBerry is on a mission of revamping the design of its phone devices, the London series is expected to have a TI OMAP dual-core CPU running at 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM, 16GB storage, and eight megapixel camera.

BlackBerry is hosting a conference in San Jose, California from September 25, it is expected that the company will reveal more details about the upcoming devices.

RIM has recently not been able to acquire large numbers in sales due to fierce competition from other smartphone manufacturers like, Apple, Samsung, HTC, etc.

Blackberry 10 is expected to be available in the stores early next year. After the launch of the London series, BlackBerry will tighten its grip on the smartphone market by releasing the N-series.
