Microsoft warned users to stay away from the fake sign-up pages

Xbox 720 specs, release date and price details have not made it to the surface yet, but there are few scammers, who are trying to get the private details of Xbox enthusiasts. Xbox 720 Beta Sign-Up Pages, which are being used by the miscreants, have been discarded by Microsoft as fake and the firm has asked consumers to stay away from such false promises.

Microsoft’s Major Nelson has asked consumers to remain cautious and not present the Xbox 720 scammers with their personal details. The websites are promising early access to the Xbox 720 console and collecting private details of the consumers. Microsoft has stated that the Windows manufacturing firm has not set-up any such kind of pages, which facilitate early access to Xbox 720.

Director of programming for Xbox Live, Larry Hryb tweeted, “Confirmed: All sign up pages for testing the “next Xbox” are FAKE. Do not give them your information, it’s a scam.” Xbox 720 unveiling has been a popular subject of discussion among the gaming community after Sony announced its next-generation console, PlayStation 4.

Xbox 720 was earlier rumoured to be unveiled in April rather than the suspected mid-June announcement during the E3 convention. With reports about Xbox 720 being better than PS4 surfacing during the SXSW convention, the console wars are reaching a new height. There can be no clear winner when it comes to Xbox 720 and PS4 and with the specifications of Xbox still unknown, it is hard to compare the devices.

With scammers trying to take advantage of Xbox 720 aficionados, consumers need to be more careful about their details. Both the gaming consoles are expected to be available to people by October this year, if one reads between the lines of the statement from Assassin’s Creed 4 developer.
