PS4 news brings in some internal details of the new console from Sony, which has not been released to the public yet. PS4 specs have been widely discussed among gaming communities and recent reports suggest that NVIDIA had financial concerns for not working with Sony on their next-generation console. As many have noticed, PS4 operates on AMD processor, 8-core Jaguar CPU and Radeon graphics
The news holds importance because Sony had collaborated with NVIDIA on PS3 and with PS4 being the Japanese conglomerate’s best product till now, one would ponder over the discontinuation of the services of NVIDIA. Recent reports suggest that Microsoft Xbox 720 will also be featuring AMD chips.
Explaining the reason for declining to work with Sony, senior vice-president of content and technology at NVIDIA, Tony Tamasi said, “We came to the conclusion that we didn’t want to do the business at the price those guys were willing to pay.” Tamasi seemed unfazed about the console sector being owned by AMD as he stated that they are building a whole bunch of stuff including Project SHIELD.
Sony has not confirmed the PS4 release date yet and with the gaming community waiting for the glimpse of the console, anticipations are bound to rise. Recent reports suggested that Sony might be planning to release the console by November this year. The demand for the console has already crossed major barriers and created new records.
