Wii Mini launch

Wii Mini will be out in the UK on March 22 along with Nintendo Select video game titles

Nintendo Wii Mini is set to launch in the UK on March 22 along with new Nintendo Select video game titles. Wii Mini was first spotted on the Canadian website of Best Buy and is currently priced at £64 ($100), but the price for the UK variant has not been made known yet. Reports suggest that a price range between £70-80 can be expected.

The sale of 100 million Wii consoles might have prompted Nintendo to come up with the mini variant for relaxed gamers. A red Wii Remote Plus and a red Nunchuk controller are also included along with the Wii mini console, which is black and bordered by red. The reduced price has also seen the attributes of the console decrease too.

Wii mini offers no internet connectivity, provides no SD card slot, no GameCube support and it comes with only one USB port. The console features a top-loading disc tray rather than a disc slot when compared to the Wii console. The console plays 1,200 disc-based Wii games according to the firm’s report about the console.

A statement from Nintendo read, “The latest addition to this family of home consoles offers great gameplay at great value, putting the focus squarely on games. With a family-friendly design offering no internet capabilities, Wii Mini allows you to jump straight in and experience all the great Wii games from the last six years since the Wii console first launched.”

Nintendo Wii mini launch will also witness the release of Nintendo Select video game titles like Mario Party 8, Wii Sports Resort, Mario Power Tennis, and Super Paper Mario.
