Apple TV jailbreak was encountered by the firm, but the Wi-Fi problems with the third-generation TV has cripple the firm with constant exchange requests. Apple has admitted to the faults present in the TV and stated that the firm will replace the affected units for free of cost. Various consumers registered complaints about the latest iteration of Apple TV unable to locate a Wi-Fi network.
The firm has stated that consumers would be able to get the exchange at any official store or authorized reseller. The firm will replace the models for up to two years from the original date of purchase. Some tech blogs express that the third-generation Apple TV was not a major upgrade from its earlier version as its major addition was the support for 1080p video.
Accepting the fault in the third-gen Apple TV, a statement from the firm read, “Apple has determined that a very small number of Apple TV (3rd generation) products might experience one of these Wi-Fi related connectivity issues: Cannot locate network, Unable to join network, Dropped or intermittent connection.”
The reports of the problems with Apple TV were majorly concentrated in the US while it is still unclear whether the consumers in Europe were affected or not. Shedding more light on the details of the affected TV’s, Apple released the serial numbers of the problematic TV’s.
The firm states, the serial numbers of the affected TV’s end in DRHN. In addition, the third and fourth letters contain one of the following combinations of letters and numbers, H9 HC, HD, HF, HG, HH, HJ, HK, HL, HM, HN, HP, HQ, HR, HT, HV, HW, HX, J1, J2m J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, J8, J9.
